About Frank Cable, Founder & CEO

Frank Cable is the founder and CEO of Guide Biomedical Solutions, LLC (GBS). GBS provides access to a network of over 130 NIH-level consultants to assist biotechnology and life science supply chain organizations, accelerating growth and expanding domestic biomanufacturing through effective public and private partnerships, strategic alliances, and business development.

 

 Frank's extensive experience spans over 35 years, with a significant focus on product development and project management in the automotive, telecom, and healthcare industries. His dedicated 27 years in healthcare product development and commercialization make him a trusted expert in the field.

 Most recently, Frank served as fractional CEO of a cold chain logistics startup. Additionally, he supplied Project Management support to a surgical robotics firm to advance their ARPA-H abstract submission.

 During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Frank supported the NIH Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative as a Project Manager, working with multiple IVD companies that received $85 million in HHS funding.

 Upon his departure from RADx, Frank organized a coalition to establish COVID-19 tests with near-100% domestic manufacturing content, supporting the HHS ‘Made in USA’ initiative.   

 Before his efforts to address the pandemic, Frank served as a Director of Program Management and R&D within the Breast and Skeletal Health (BSH) Division of Hologic.  Before Hologic, Frank led R&D and Program Management teams at Cooper Surgical and Medtronic. He also served as Head of Quality and Head of New Product Introduction (NPI) within multiple medical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).

 Frank's portfolio of healthcare products and services is diverse and impressive. From capital equipment to in vitro diagnostics, imaging, SaaS, surgical instruments, in vitro fertilization, implantable pulse generators, monitoring, biologics, combination drug delivery, and surgical supplies, he has demonstrated his ability to innovate across a broad spectrum.

 Frank's career has been marked by leadership roles, demonstrating his versatility and capability. He has consistently delivered results in roles ranging from CEO to Business Development, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, R&D, Quality, Process Development, Tooling, Automation, and Operations.

 Frank holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University with a concentration in Biology. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP)® and a Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Black Belt. He is also enrolled in the multi-year Group Leader training program at the Center for Group Studies, NYC.
